Hi, I'm Laura

Machine Learning Engineer and Creative Technologist

About me

There’s a certain magic in tricking our senses to transport us to new realities. Whether it’s the thrill of a game, the enchantment of movies, the immersion of AR/VR, or the wonder of a theme park, these fleeting escapes from reality make us feel alive again. This idea has always fascinated me, along with the technical and artistic methods used to evoke such feelings. During my studies, I specialized in the more creative part of computer science: computer graphics and machine learning. In addition to my technical pursuits, I also have a strong interest in art, particularly sketching and painting. Therefore, I am deeply passionate about the intersection of technology and visual storytelling. My fascination lies in how these fields can be harnessed to create stunning visual applications that bring both real and imaginary worlds to life.

TwoMoons

An immersive tcg & board game bar: from story development and early sketches to construction and the final space.

Game Lab - Circus Break

Circus Break is a 3D racing-style game for one to four players playing cooperatively as escaped circus animals riding unicycles through rush hour traffic. The game was a project for the Game Programming Laboratory Course 2020 at ETH Zurich.

HoloHue

HoloHue is a mixed reality application for controlling smart lights using the Microsoft HoloLens 2. The project was part of the Mixed Reality lecture at ETH Zurich in 2022.

Computer Graphics - Rendering Competition

As part of the Computer Graphics course at ETH Zurich 2022 we implemented a renderer based on Nori, that allows us to create realistic images using ray-tracing. At the end of the semester I was able to qualify for the rendering competition with my final rendering with the theme "out of place".
